How to choose

When: in buildings where some rooms need heating while others need cooling at the same time, such as hotels, offices and mixed-use buildings.
Capacity: choose 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18 or 20 HP based on the total of the connected indoor units.
BS box: each branch selects heating or cooling through a BS box. Use single BS1Q boxes for spread-out rooms and 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 or 16-port boxes where many rooms sit side by side.
Piping: branches use KHRQ23M 3-pipe refnet joints and the outdoor side uses BHFQ23P pieces; pick the code by pipe size from the Daikin piping table.

How to write it in a quote

Write the outdoor unit with capacity and system type: “Daikin VRV REYQ14U heat recovery outdoor unit, 14 HP, 3-pipe, inverter”. Add BS boxes, refnet joints and outdoor connection pieces as separate lines with quantities; the number of BS boxes follows from the zone plan.

What is the difference between heat recovery VRV and heat pump VRV?

A heat pump outdoor unit runs the whole system in either heating or cooling mode. REYQ-U heats and cools different zones at the same time and uses the heat extracted in one zone for the zones that need heating.

What does a BS box do?

The BS (branch selector) box routes refrigerant to the indoor units in a 3-pipe heat recovery system and lets the connected indoor units heat or cool independently.

Single or multi-port BS box?

For rooms far apart, use the single BS1Q10A, BS1Q16A or BS1Q25A; for many branches side by side, such as rooms along one corridor, use the 4–16 port BSnQ14AV1B boxes.

Which refnet joints are used?

A heat recovery system uses 3-pipe pieces: KHRQ23M20T, KHRQ23M29T9, KHRQ23M64T and KHRQ23M75T on the branches, and BHFQ23P907A and BHFQ23P1357 on the outdoor unit side.
